The competition regimes of some jurisdictions include objectives which extend beyond the core economic goals of competition law. The workshop will discuss these different considerations (i.e. public interest considerations) in competition law, how they are applied and by whom, and the relevant challenges for competition authorities and practitioners.

The morning session of the workshop will be devoted to the broader questions of reconciling competition with other public policy goals, while the afternoon session will focus on M&As.
